Robert Frost Public Charter School is a state authorized NH Public School located in North Conway, NH and will serve grades K-8 in multi-age classrooms for the 2017/2018 school year.  The school will continue to expand yearly until we reach full operation, serving over 150 students in grades K-8.

Head of School

Robert Frost Public Charter School, located in North Conway with the wanderlust backdrop of Mount Washington Valley, is seeking an experienced school administrator to become our Head of School. This school is in its early stages of development and exhibits the hallmarks of an organization in “boot-strap” mode. We offer much opportunity for the right candidate eager to make an impact on public education. The next HOS must possess a strong desire to support the development of an innovative public school and be a collaborative leader who will lead staff and support the development of students on their journey from kindergarten to eighth grade.

About the Job

The Head of School will oversee the management of a publicly funded charter school authorized by the State of New Hampshire Board of Education. Our vision is for the Head of School to focus on three goals. First, the operational goal is to ensure that RFPCS is in compliance with all relevant public charter school and other laws. Second, the performance goal is to ensure that the educational mission, vision and values of the school are present in daily operations. Third, the sustainability goal is to manage and oversee financial budgets, including driving all necessary fundraising & grant writing efforts.

The Opportunity

For the Head of School, within the stated goals are the following responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage our amazing team of educators and staff as they develop our students and grow professionally;
  • Provide a high quality, competency-based educational experience for our students as defined by our charter;
  • Build relationships with our families that encourage their participation in the school’s success;
  • Manage our operational budget and be a good steward of public funds;
  • Plan and implement fundraising and grant writing for school;
  • Collaborate with the School Board of Trustees to plan appropriately for the future of the school;
  • Provide a warm, engaged, and proactive face to our school in the community;
  • Garner support from our school community, as well as support from the greater community, by increasing the understanding of the purpose and role of this charter school.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Education or higher preferred;
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business or Management preferred;
  • Knowledge of New Hampshire public school requirements under charter school law preferred;
  • Experience with Montessori, Project Based Learning, and School Administration;
  • Experience as a teacher and administrator;
  • Familiarity with the budgeting and reporting obligations of public organizations;
  • Computer literate and comfortable acquiring new technology skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including supportive and persuasive;
  • Knowledge of New Hampshire Public School requirements for charter school law preferred
  • Excellent organization, time management, project management and personnel management skills;
  • Enthusiasm for and commitment to participating in a cooperative effort to further develop our school, with commitment to our vision, mission and guiding principles;
  • High ethical professional standards;
  • Computer literate and comfortable with acquiring new technology skills
  • Willingness to engage with the local community to build a partnership for growing the school;

The Head of School will be a Full-time, Administrative opportunity with a requirement for 225 work days. Our salary is competitive and we cannot wait to support the right person in this role.

Substitute Teaching Positions 2017/2018 School Year

Lead Montessori Teacher

Robert Frost Public Charter School is seeking an experienced educator with a desire to teach in a public school setting with a student-centered philosophy. The position consists of teaching with a team of certified teachers in the areas of humanities, STEM, and language to a multi-age, heterogeneous classroom comprised of students  where Common Core, Project-Based Learning, Student Led Learning and Spanish Language are blended. The ideal candidate will be NH certified K-8.

Position Type: Full-time.

Part-Time Spanish Teacher 2017/2018 School Year

Robert Frost Public Charter School is seeking an experienced Spanish teacher with a desire to teach in a public school setting with a student-centered philosophy. Preferred candidates will possess knowledge and experience with Montessori pedagogy, and demonstrate the ability to teach a range of students at all levels of Spanish through grades K-8; applicants with experience in other mixed-age settings are also encouraged to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: teaching conversational Spanish and imparting the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Candidates should be able to teach the students about Spanish language, literature, culture, and history through interactive and engaging lessons. All RFPCS teachers are expected to communicate effectively with parents, both orally and in written progress reports. Furthermore, the Spanish Teacher must be comfortable working within a team and making positive contributions to all areas of child development.
